Hungarian:
A Mieresch egy 2013-ban alapított kolozsvári zenei projekt. A zenekar stílusa főként ambient és drone alapú, elektronikus hangzásokra épül, amelyeket olykor különféle akusztikus hangszerek egészítenek ki. A jelenlegi előadáson, a legújabb, „Subantarctica” című albumunkról mutatunk be néhány szerzeményt. A hét kompozíció a szubantarktikus régió egyes helyszíneihez kapcsolodik.
English:
Mieresch is a music project from Cluj-Napoca, founded in 2013. The style is predominantly ambient and drone-based, centered around electronic sounds and occasionally complemented by various acoustic instruments. At this event, we will present tracks from our latest album, "Subantarctica", within the quiet location of a cinema. The album is inspired by the remote islands of the Southern Ocean, their landscapes, natural history, and isolation. Its seven tracks were inspired by several locations associated with the subantarctic region. The music combines ambient electronics, synthesizers, and processed guitars, creating expansive, immersive, and minimalist soundscapes.
Joining us for the event will be Screw, an experimental music project initiated in 2019 by Alexandra Mocan and Cezar Cîmpeanu, both living in Cluj-Napoca. Based on live improvisation, their aim is to investigate the unlimited potential of sound by screwing up various recorded or synthesized samples and freaking them out with software or hardware tools.
